The Museum of Heartbreak Meg Leder Books
This book was so wonderful! I love books about friendships. Pen (Penelope) has been best friends with Eph (Ephraim) and Audrey forever. But this year, Audrey has a new friend, Clerisse, who is awful to Pen. And Eph is dating anything that breathes. Pen doesn't like how things are changing and she's dealing with little heartbreak after little heartbreak. Not to mention, she has her first relationship with a boy, and she needs her friends. Luckily, she finds a few new ones: Grace and Miles. This book just felt so real. The relationships were believable. The emotions were raw. Pen was slightly annoying at times, but I was very invested in her happiness because of the hurt I felt for her right away.
I loved the way this book was written as a museum. Each chapter began with an artifact, and then that section of the story explained why it had meaning and how it played into the various heartbreaks involved in this book. I most appreciated that the heartbreak wasn't just about a boyfriend. This book examines the way that our friends and family can hurt us too, sometimes without meaning to. It's a great read!

The Museum of Heartbreak Meg Leder Books Reviews
This was such a unique story, loved the whole thing, such creative, real characters. Makes you want to go to an old book store and then a museum. You realize the value of someone who really knows you.
Excellent read. Character development outstanding. There us more there than the written word. Witty, comical, candid, and mostly true for everyone. I'm in my 60's, I loved it.
Meg Leder is an amazing author! She's truly captured the teenage spirit in The Museum of Heartbreak! This is a great read for teens and parents who have a teenager!
This was a good example of teen lit. It was a fun read.
I absolutely adored this book from beginning to end. The characters were so true to life, I'd swear I've met them before, or actually was one or each of them in some way or another. Meg captures the beauty and pain of love in a way that makes your heart beat faster with joy and anguish as you live Pen's story along with her. The perfect pop culture and NYC references are a pure bonus. I loved this book and I cannot recommend it enough.
***Spoiler Alert***
This. All of this! The Museum of Heartbreak was like receiving a hug from a book! It was so incredible and wonderful, magical and all around lovely. It made me laugh in recognition of my younger awkward self, and had me crying at the end in remembering my own moments of teenage heartbreak, and how I never thought I would survive it! I became so engrossed in the story, so involved in the characters' lives, I actually felt my heart break alongside Pen's and would have been devastated if Pen and Eph didn't get together in the end. This book is the perfect read for any time of year, and gives you all the feels. I want to keep it close to me always, and it's a definite re-read for my future when I need to be reminded that growing up is hard and it's ok that friends drift when it means becoming the true you.
Holy T-Rex, star stickers, and subway tokens! This YA contemporary does what only few can. It truly embodies the kaleidoscope of emotions of what it is to be a teen. Of growing up. Of falling in love. Of figuring yourself out, only to discover you have so much more to learn. And debut author Meg Leder manages to do it all with a gentle, humorous, and heartfelt hand. (BTW, I snort-laughed. A lot.)
THIS is why MUSEUM OF HEARTBREAK is one of my favorites of 2016. Not to mention how richly drawn Pen, Eph, and all the characters come across on the page. Because books that read this effortless and true, aren’t without a monumental amount of effort.
So you can find me and my happy heart singing with joy for the remains of the year. Now, do yourself a favor, sing with me and BUY IT!!! )
