This is a short fast read that takes a history buff or someone who likes to sight see on a journey through the Cotswolds to find some of the hidden features available. I recently read The Illustrated Cotswold Guide written by Nicholas Reardon's late father, Peter Reardon. It is packed full of sketches that Peter Reardon himself drew. I fell in love with the English countryside and have decided I must visit there. This book, has only made me more determined to visit and take in the many unique and charming bits of history available. This may be a small book but it is full of wonderful things to see and do while visiting the Cotswold area. I highly recommend reading both books together so you have a more thorough picture of what the area has to offer. Mr. Reardon has a personal interest in gargoyles and you will find some very unique specimens throughout this book. It is a must read for anyone who is looking for a new place to visit. It is definitely on my bucket list. I wish to thank the author for providing me with a copy to read.

Clever idea, beautifully laid out and so important to bring us back in time by collecting images of the 'dark side' of the Cotswolds History - I really liked the concept - a friend borrowed this book and so liked the photographs and illustrations that I had to purchase another copy for myself. Mr Reardon, I really like your work - keep them coming as they are a delight and so complementary of the Cotswolds region - another 'must' for all those living in and visiting this beautiful part of the world.
